Tech house
Punchier and tighter than house, with a rolling bassline that keeps you moving.
- Tempo, BPM
- 124–128
- Where it started
- The UK, 1990s; huge again since 2018
What it sounds like
House with fewer chords and more groove: a chunky, rolling bassline, crisp drums and short vocal hooks repeated until they stick. It's the big-room sound of most festivals' house stages right now.
